The Mathematics Department at UCA will host the Central Arkansas Regional Mathematics Contest, sponsored by ACTM, on Saturday, March 3, 2012. The Contest is designed for students currently enrolled in the following courses: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trig/PreCalculus, Calculus, and Statistics.

Pre-registration of students is strongly encouraged so that each student can be assured of a place in the contest selected. However, late registration will be available at 9:15 a.m. on the day of the contest in the testing rooms.  Please find the attached registration and consent forms.  To pre-register, local school sponsors should mail or fax (501-450-5662) the completed forms by Friday, February 24, 2012.  Please mail the $2 registration fee per student to the regional coordinator, Dr. C. L. Pinchback, UCA, Mathematics Department, Conway, AR 72035.  Make the fee payable to ACTM in the form of a check or purchase order.

Test locations will be posted in the lobby of the Mathematics/Computer Science Building at UCA (three buildings away from Papa John’s on Bruce Street).   The doors will be opened at 9:00 a.m.  All students should be in the appropriate testing room no later than 9:50 a.m. for instructions. The test will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Students must remain in the testing room until time is called at 11:00 a.m. There will be planned activities and refreshments available for teachers during testing time.   Presentation of contest results and awards will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Doyne Health Science Auditorium.
