Q: Where are you from?

A: I am from Conway, Arkansas.

Q: Why did you decide to attend/work at UCA?

A:  I came to UCA (then Arkansas State Teachers College) in 1966 on a football scholarship. I ended up working at UCA in 1982 as a football coach and instructor in the Kinesiology department.

Q: What did you study in college?

A: I studied Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology at UCA. (BS and MSE at UCA - graduate work at ASU and U of Mississippi) I also completed the ROTC program at UCA and was commissioned an officer in the U.S. Army upon graduation in 1971.

Q: How long have you worked in Admissions?

A: I started working in Admissions in Jan. 2000.

Q: What is your favorite place on campus?  Why?

A: The football stadium. Many fond memories.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do in Conway?

A: Attend sporting events at UCA, Conway High, and at Quigley Stadium.

Q: What's one of your fondest memories about your time here at UCA?

A: Being the Head Football Coach when we won the National Championship in 1991.

Q: What parts of admissions counseling do you enjoy?

A: I enjoy visiting with students concerning their career goals and what it is going to take to reach those goals.

Q: What's an interesting fact about UCA that many people might not know?

A: UCA at one time housed a primary school. I attended elementary school (grades 1-5) at UCA.

Advice to Prospective Students

 Be open to change, be flexible, and persevere. Attending UCA is an opportunity not an entitlement. Take advantage of this opportunity and earn your degree.
