Enrollment in each of the three concurrent sessions of the three-year program is limited. Prospective participants are encouraged to register as early as possible. Attendees receive 3.5 Continuing Education Units (CEU's) for each year's attendance. A graduate credit option is available.
REGISTRATION Cost of Instruction is $650 per individual, which covers instruction, materials, refreshments, and one special event. Check-in will be held at the University of Central Arkansas' Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center from 7:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m., on Monday, July 30, 2007. GRADUATE CREDIT The
CDI curriculum is now linked to UCA's Master of Science in Community
Devleopment (MSCED) graduate degree program. CDI participants may earn
graduate credit toward completion of the MSCED program by completing all
prescribed CDI sessions, a short research project, and a final
examination within one month following the summer Institute. The
graduate course, available to all first-year participants, is MSCED 6310
- Community and Economic Development Seminar. The rest of the
MSCED graduate degree can be pursued in various forms of distance
learning. An individualized program schedule will be provided for those interested in completing the
MSCED degree. Participants may earn up to nine credit hours of the
degree by completing Years 1-3 of CDI. Second or third year CDI
participants may also garner graduate credit hours. Those who seek the credit course option must be admitted to
graduate school and pay the required credit course registration.

form. Participants who choose the degree credit option will pay
only $250 for CDI registration and $720 for tuition and fees for the
credit course, making
the total cost of CDI attendance with the credit option $970. A
one time $25 graduate application will be charged for participants who
have not been admitted to graduate school. SCHEDULE Classes will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 30th and end at 12 noon, Friday, August 3, 2007. The Professional Community Developer test will be given Friday afternoon. Testing fee is $100, with checks payable on-site to the Community Development Council.
ATTENDANCE POLICY Only participants who attend ALL classes will receive credit for the course. No excuses for absence other than illness or family/business emergency will be accepted. If illness or emergency causes a participant to miss more than 10 percent of the class sessions, credit for course completion cannot be given.
DRESS Dress for CDI is business casual.
PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPER/TEST The Professional Community Developer test will be given Friday afternoon following the completion of the final CDI session. The testing fee is $100, with checks payable on-site to the Community Development Council.
LOCATION CDI will be held in the Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. The campus is located 30 miles northwest of Little Rock directly off I-40.
HOTEL & MOTELS Rooms have been reserved at the following locations. Please request the CDI conference. Reservations must be made by July 1, 2007.
