ANNUAL ALUMNI EXHIBITION

The Friends of the Baum Gallery, UCA Foundation, Inc., annually sponsors an Alumni Exhibition that takes place during Homecoming Week. The exhibit is designed to share original art works created by, or collected by, UCA alumni.
Alumni collectors and artists are encouraged to submit works of art for review through the Baum Gallery director by email/electronic file: the annual selection is made by the Friends Advisory Council (alumni and community representatives). Artists send a resume, slides or screen-resolution images (72 dpi), and an artist statement referencing the submitted art works. Collectors send a resume and images with a statement about their collecting interests, focusing on the featured art works.

Materials will be returned with a provided self-addressed, stamped envelope enclosed for that purpose. For additional information, contact the gallery office at 501.450.5793.

RECENT ALUMNI EXHIBITORS
| Fall 2008 Collectors Show: Portraits and Drawings from the Collection of Chrissy and Craig Denton Craig Denton attended UCA from 1988-1990, and Chrissy Acuff Denton graduated from UCA in 1990 with a BBA in Business Management, later graduating from UALR School of Law in 1995 with a Juris Doctor degree. She serves as an adjunct Professor of Business Law at UCA. The Denton collection features works by UCA art professors and area artists; its current focus is primarily family portraits of the Denton children. |

| Fall 2007 Finely Rendered: still life drawings by Sheila McKenney Cantrell Sheila Cantrell earned her BSE in Mathematics at UCA in 1980. She is primarily a self-taught artist who acknowledges teacher and abstract painter Tarrence Corbin as her original mentor and most inspiring teacher. She has exhibited, and is collected, nationally, having received numerous awards. Her work was recently selected for inclusion in a SmithKramer exhibition that will travel during 2008-2010 titled The New Reality: The Frontier of Realism in the 21st Century. She holds memberships in The International Guild of Realism and The Colored Pencil Society of America, and is currently represented by Hurst Gallery in Little Rock, Arkansas. http://www.sheilacantrell.com An Arkansas Natural: acrylic paintings by Duane Hada Duane Hada earned BA degree in Art from UCA in 1989. His passion for and interest in Arkansas wildlife and sports developed his artistic interests which include original watercolors and acrylic paintings on canvas and board of landscapes, the sport of fly-fishing, and the natural flora and fauna of the state. He has exhibited, and is collected, nationally, having received numerous awards. Mr. Hada’s work through his Rivertown Gallery and studio in Cotter, Arkansas; companion marketing includes Signature Series flies by internationally-known fly tyer Davy Wotton, and trout carvings by Gary Turner. http://www.rivertowngallery.com |

| Fall 2006 Landscapes by David Loren Bass David L. Bass earned his B.S.E. in Art Education from UCA in 1965 and his M.F.A. in Painting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1975. He has exhibited, and is collected, nationally. Mr. Bass makes his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with additional studios in San Anselmo, California, and Wilmington, North Carolina. He specializes in oil and watercolor paintings of landscapes, particularly those of northern New Mexico, the Big Bend Region of southwest Texas, and Central and South America. |

| Fall 2005 French and American Impressionist Paintings from the Collection of Dr. and Mrs. William “Bill” Amos A collector's show, the paintings included landscapes by French painters Constant Troyon and Charles Francois Daubigny, and North American artists Frank de Haven and Chauncey F. Ryder. |
