Class Show. This exhibit is featuring several lovely paintings selected by UCA's painting professor, Sandra Luckett. The artist's all had a bit of an opportunity for some real soul searching and you won't want to miss seeing their therapeutic imagery come to life!

The Sounds of Love- Valentine's Day Show

The Black Box Student Gallery presents an unforgettable event that will leave your ears ringing with... The Sounds of Love!  This event will be a toe-tapping good time in which we will hold a contest  for who can create the best musical shoes. Shoes will be judged  based on creativity and weirdest, strangest, prettiest, most original noise. Dr. Jarvis, the chair of the UCA music department has agreed to be our guest juror for the evening. This is a chance for art students and professors, or anyone else who wants to participate, to be creative and show off your skills on a sweet sounding pair of kicks. Anything and everything is aloud..so long as it doesn't ruin our floor, of course. Come on, use those creative juices to express yourself in any way fit through the sound of music...on your feet. There will be lots of sweet treats made with love for you and your sweetie, plus the sythesizing stylings of EZ DUZIT! This synthesizer-er will swoon you with his sweet jams, and will be great back ground music to accompany our musical shoes!

Also, please bring an extra pair of shoes if you plan on displaying your fantastical foot-ware in the gallery! Shoes will need to be  picked up by Monday (Feb. 20th) so we can get the gallery ready for the next show.

Types of Shows

• small group show - a few students create their own show with some assistance from the directors, a great opportunity for upper-level students who have a cohesive body of work (contact a director to apply)
• class show - one of our studio professors creates a show in order to exhibit work from a particular course
• juried show - an opportunity for ALL UCA STUDENTS to submit work to a themed competitive show, which will be juried by the Black Box directors.
• solo show-features the work of one artist
