Department of BiologyFaculty
I study the intriguing interactions between insects and plants, and specifically how insects behaviorally deactivate plant defenses. I am presently using the behaviors of caterpillar pests as a probe for isolating plant chemicals potentially useful in pest control. My broader interests include the fields of behavioral ecology, plant-animal interactions, entomology, and chemical ecology. COURSES TAUGHT: Principles of Biology II; Invertebrate Zoology; Animal Behavior; Entomology; Graduate Seminars (Plant-Animal Interactions; Behavioral Ecology; Biology of Insects: Molecules to Societies; Biology and Society: Issues and Perspectives) |
