My interest focuses on the ecological significance of resource allocation patterns in plants. I have examined how gall-forming insects manipulate normal host plant allocation patterns to their own benefit, and how trees with different allocation patterns influence gall-former success. I am currently examining morphological plasticity in an introduced plant species, Lonicera japonica, and investigating how plastic resource allocation patterns influence the ability of L. japonica to colonize diverse habitats. Courses Taught: Biology for General Education; Principles of Biology II; General Ecology; Advanced Ecology |
