Artists in Residence - 2000-2001

Anthony Zerbe

Anthony Zerbe, film star (Matrix II, Star Trek IX, True Crime, James Bond: A License to Kill), will give a public performance of his one-man show "It's All Done With Mirrors" and work individually for a week with ten students (selected in a campus-wide audition) on monologues that the students present to the public as the culminating event.

George Crumb

George Crumb, Grammy winning composer, will be in residence for three days meeting with students and presenting master classes. He will perform one of his compositions as part of "An Evening of the Music of George Crumb" presented by UCA music faculty and students.

Robert Hass

Robert Hass, poet laureate of the United States, will read and discuss his poetry for a campus audience before spending two days working individually with creative writing students.

The Prints of Picasso, Braque, and Leger

The Baum Gallery of Fine Art will host the Prints of Picasso, Braque and Leger, a traveling exhibition of prints by three famous modern artists, for two months. The residency will include a public lecture by an art historian about the exhibition as well as several docented class visits.

Nexus

Nexus, Canada's extraordinary percussion ensemble, will present a public performance followed by a day of workshops and master classes for UCA percussion students.
