Artists in Residence - 2004-2005

Sherril Milnes

Sherrill Milnes, world famous baritone, will be performing in the Music Department on the UCA campus as our Artist In Residence on Thursday, September 16th through Saturday, September 18th. During his appearances he will be conducting master classes and , if time permits, giving individual coaching time to students. All sessions are free and open to the public and university audiences. Milnes has performed across the United States as well as London, Paris, Milan, and Verona.

Michael Chabon

Pulitzer Prize winning author and screenwriter, Michael Chabon, will visit UCA's campus on February 8th & 9th. Chabon has written a number of screen plays including "Spiderman II". His second novel, "Wonderboys," was made into a movie starring Michael Douglas and Toby McGuire and his story "Son of the Wolfman," was included in the 1999 O. Henry Prize Collection.

He will deliver a one-hour reading with commentary, followed by an audience Q & A and a book signing.

Paul Steger

Paul Steger brings stage and screen combat choreography to the UCA campus. He has taught, directed, performed, and choreographed fight sequences internationally and at various regional theaters. Paul spent the last two years in Los Angeles, performing in The Last Session, and directed a production of Greg. He appeared in Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia, and on episodes of The Practice, Party of Five, Charmed, Ally McBeal, and Family Law.

Chanticleer

Chanticleer, consisting of twelve male voices ranging from bass to countertenor is known as "an orchestra of voices." Based in San Francisco, this group has performed across the United States and throughout the world. Chanticleer performs at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, in Reynolds Performance Hall.

Sandy Skoglund

Sandy Skoglund, a native of Massachusetts, has studied at the Sorbonne and Ecole Du Louvre in Paris. She brings an exciting look to contemporary photography. Some of her most know photographs are "Walking on Eggshells," "Radioactive Cats," and "Revenge of the Fish." Ms. Skoglund will make an appearance in the Baum Gallery on February 18, 2005.
