Perform general office duties greet visitors and students; answer telephone and forward calls; set appointments; assist with travel requests, purchase orders, book orders, and time sheets; maintain departmental files, prepare itineraries, assist gallery director with press releases and mailing list databases, and assist Chairperson with other duties as assigned. Compose, type, and edit documents. Knowledge of word processing applications such as Word, Excel, and Access and ability to perform basic mathematic calculations. Must have a high school diploma plus one year of specialized training in the secretarial field; plus three years of secretarial experience.

Assistant Professor, Graphic Design

The Position: The Department of Art in the College of Fine Arts and Communication invites applications and nominations for the
tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Graphic Design. The department enjoys endowments and private scholarship funds

of over $1 million, annual university performance scholarships of $22,000, a visiting artist series, and NASAD accreditation.
Touring and student exhibits are hosted in the Baum Gallery of Art.
The department serves approximately 190 majors and 30 minors, and offers the BA in Art with emphases in fine arts, art education,
and art history, and the BFA in Studio Art with emphases in ceramics, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, and
sculpture. The faculty is composed of 13 full-time and 3 part-time members.

Minimum Qualifications: Qualified candidates should have an MFA in Graphic Design or Visual Communication; expertise in
Quark, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop; knowledge of cross-platforming and maintaining Macintosh labs; and a portfolio
reflecting expertise in print, digital media, and three-dimensional design. Work should exhibit awareness of social and
contemporary issues. Teaching and professional field experience is preferred.

Responsibilities include teaching three studio courses in graphic design per semester plus directing advanced undergraduate
research. Other duties include advising, committee work, and service. Candidates are expected to be active in the profession and in
appropriate professional organizations. Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
