Donald W. Reynolds
Performance Hall

University of Central Arkansas
Conway, Arkansas 72035

The Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall is the capstone of a $22 million complex that is a combined project of the University of Central Arkansas, the Arkansas Educational Television Network, and the City of Conway through the Conway Corporation. The complex includes the AETN Center for Educational Telecommunication, the UCA Mass Communication facilities (Stanley Russ Hall), and the Brewer-Hegeman  Conference Center.

Reynolds Performance Hall seats 1,200 and accommodates full orchestras and large theatrical productions, and can be used for guest speakers, lectures, and large conference and teleconference meetings. The Hall has a large orchestra pit with a lift, a fully accessible back-stage area that can handle large-scale musical equipment and theatrical scenery.  It has a full stage orchestra shell for music presentations. The facilities are state-of-the-art.

Reynolds Performance Hall positions UCA  as an even stronger pervasive force in the community and the state. UCA has already spent $4.5 million to enhance its music, theatre and visual arts programs.   The University's Baum Gallery of Fine Art is an active professional member of the American Association of Museums and the Southeastern Museums Conference, and sponsors nationally and internationally-known works of art in changing exhibitions as well as juried competitions. New faculty and students are increasingly successful in regional and national competitions, and the music, art, and theatre programs are nationally accredited.

As the centerpiece of UCA's plan to strengthen the fine and performing arts, the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall provides many tangible benefits to students, faculty and the citizens of Conway and Arkansas through the increased cultural activity. Students perform under real-world conditions, faculty observe and interact with a wide range of visiting performers and speakers, and the community has a wider variety of cultural, intellectual and professional arts opportunities, benefiting the local economy and bringing wider recognition to the University.
