Introducing.... the ARKANSAS SHAKESPEARE THEATRE! |
Founded in 2006, The Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre produces a repertory of family-friendly professional productions each summer in Conway. With dual missions of excellence and accessibility, the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre adds something unique in our region and provides thousands of families with a one-of-a-kind theatre experience in a world-class facility.
Our inaugural 2007 summer festival saw us performing a repertory of "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Man of La Mancha" and "Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)", performed by a company of over 50, including professional artists from all over the country, local artists, and student interns representing 4 Arkansas Colleges. Almost 3000 tickets were sold, with 40% of our audience attending from out-of-town.
As we continue to grow, so too will our opportunities for entertainment and education. Our 2008 Season promises many firsts for us, and we hope you'll join us for something special. For this theatre to most effectively serve our community, we need to represent our community!
