Digital Filmmaking BA/BS
Degree Requirements (42 hours)

Core (6 Hours):
MCOM 1300 Media and Society
MCOM 1362 Mass Communication Practices and Processes
(1300 and 1362 may be taken concurrently and must be taken before any other classes.)

Required (21 Hours):
FILM 2310 Script Analysis (Can be taken before or concurrently w/ 2366)
FILM 2366 Digital Filmmaking 1
(FILM 2366 is the prereq. for Digital 2 and 3 and cannot be taken concurrently with them.)
FILM 3356 Digital Filmmaking 2 (Pre-Reqs: 2310, 2366)
FILM 4356 Digital Filmmaking 3 (Pre-Reqs: 2310, 2366, 3356)
FILM 3315 Classical Film Theory
FILM 3350 Cinema History 1
FILM 3351 Cinema History 2

Electives (15 Hours):
MCOM 3307 Media Theory and Research
FILM 3316 Film Theory Since 1960
MCOM 3363 Audio Production
MCOM 3373 Documentary Production (FILM 2366 is prereq.)
MCOM 4313 Writing for Electronic Media
MCOM 4315 Advanced Television Production
MCOM 4323 Seminar in Mass Communication
FILM 4392 Topics in Digital Production (MCOM 2366 is prereq.)
WRTG 3300 Creative Writing: Screenwriting
(Cinematography, Directing, Editing, etc.)
WRTG 3320 Forms of Scriptwriting
MCOM 3321 Internship (120 work hours - Minimum GPA 3.0, FILM 2366, FILM 3356)

Completion of GENERAL EDUCATION HOURS
Completion of SPECIAL DEGREE REQUIREMENTS (BA/Language or BS/ Math or Science)
Completion of 40 hours at the Upper Division 3000-4000 level (includes Major, Minor and Electives)
Completion of 12 hours Upper Division in the MAJOR (included in the required 40 UD hrs.)
Completion of a MINOR (see Minor Department for requirements)
A grade point average of 2.0 or better is required in each of the major and minor fields and cumulatively.
