MARCHING BAND EXTRAVAGANZA!

The second annual BEAR MARCHING BAND EXTRAVAGANZA! will be held on Sunday afternoon, November 16th, 2-4pm, at the Reynolds Performance Hall. The BMB drumline, colorguard, feature twirlers, and entire BMB will rock Reynolds with music, drums, flags, rifles, and batons to the music from the 2008 marching season. The Extravaganza! will include music from the Opera show, Haunted Halftime of Horrors show, the Espionage/007 Skit Show, and traditional school songs. Come experience the sizzling sights and sounds of the UCA BEAR MARCHING BAND. Tickets are $10 adult, $5 students, and will be on sale at the door. All donations will go toward funding new instruments for the marching band.

Two UCA Students Chosen For National Collegiate Wind Ensemble

Congratulations to clarinetists Chelsea Daniel, Conway, and Carol Sikes, Fort Smith, for selection to the National Collegiate Wind Ensemble. Chelsea and Carol will travel to New York City this spring for several days of rehearsals with the NCWE and a gala concert in Carnegie Hall. Selection to the NCWE is through competative audition; candidates submit an audition CD, resume, and professor recommendations. Chelsea is a member of the UCA Wind Ensemble and colorguard of the Bear Marching Band. Carol is a member of the UCA Wind Ensemble and a feature twirler with the Bear Marching Band. Both are from the studio of UCA clarinet professor Dr. Kelly Johnson.

Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band Concert

The UCA WIND ENSEMBLE and the UCA SYMPHONIC BAND will present a joint campus concert in Reynolds Performance Hall on Thursday evening, December 4th, at 7:30pm. The UCA WIND ENSEMBLE is conducted by Director of Bands, Ricky Brooks, and the UCA SYMPHONIC BAND is conducted by Associate Director of Bands, Steven Smyth. The concert is free and open to the public. A special invitation is extended to Arkansas band students and directors.
