Welcome to the online home of the Bear Marching Band!!!Whether you are a prospective member, family member, or just a fan, we hope you find what you are looking for. The 2007 Marching Season was one of our best yet! Our band premiered its new uniforms, we all fried on our new “skillet” practice field, we hosted over 700 students for the first annual KKY/TBS Band Day, and we had a great trip to Houston, Texas. Our three programs (Ladies of the 80’s, Modern Stage and Screen, and our Gun Racks and Mudflaps) were a big hit with our students and with our crowds. The UCA Bear Football team had a great season also, the squad was challenging for the Southland Conference Championship up to our last game at McNeese State. It was an exciting year all around.
The 2008 season is shaping up to be another great band! We have EIGHT home games and two trips. Our first trip will be to Little Rock and War Memorial Stadium for the game against UAPB, the next is a trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the game against the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane. The Hurricane were a bowl team last season, and have a large stadium and fan base. This will be a great opportunity for our UCA Football Team and our Bear Marching Band to show what UCA is about. Our 2008 Halftime shows will be:
- Opera for Dummies
- The Haunted Halftime of HORROR!
- Best of the Horn Bands (music of Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears, Youngblood Brass Band)
It is shaping up to be a great year for the BMB. We hope you enjoy the material on our website, and we encourage you to come and see a rehearsal, halftime performance or one of our many exhibitions this fall.
