The UCA Wind Ensemble

UCA WIND ENSEMBLE WILL PERFORM IN SALZBURG AND VIENNA, AUSTRIA, MAY 2008

Presents a fall and spring Campus Concert Series in the state-of-the-art
Reynolds Performance Hall

Performs the highest quality repertoire, from wind band classics to 21st
Century new age compositions

Performances include:

• Carnegie Hall, New York City
• The Capitol, Washington, DC
• Arkansas Music Educators Convention
• American School Band Directors Association Convention
• ASBOA All-State Convention

Travels on an annual Spring Tour, which has included Arkansas, Oklahoma,
Texas, and Tennessee

Composer-in-residence during the spring semester and summer. Visiting
composers have included:

Hosts national and international guest artists and soloists. In addition to UCA Faculty soloists, visiting guest soloists have included:

• Joe Alessi, Principal Trombone, New York Philharmonic
• Tony Baker, Trombone Professor, University of North Texas
• Steven Mead, Euphonium, Royal College of Music, England
• Brian Bowman, Euphonium Professor, University of North Texas

The UCA Symphonic and Concert Bands

Present fall and spring campus concerts in Reynolds Performance Hall

Repertoire includes standard wind band literature and newly published band works

Symphonic band performed at the Arkansas Music Educators Association Convention

Hosts faculty and visiting guest soloists and conductors

Symphonic band is composed of music majors and some non-majors

Concert band is offered via chair placement audition to students of all majors with high school band experience
