Linda Hsu

Violinist Linda Hsu keeps an active performance schedule as a soloist, concertmaster, chamber and orchestral musician. Her numerous performances in Asia, Europe, Central America and the United States include New York Debut Recital at Carnegie Weill Recital Hall and recitals at the National Taiwan Recital Hall in Taipei. She has appeared as a concerto soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan, the Taipei Century Symphony Orchestra, the Greece Symphony Orchestra of New York, the Blue Lake Festival Orchestra, and the Conway Symphony Orchestra. She has collaborated with distinguished artists such as Malcolm Bilson in chamber music. Her performances have been broadcasted on cable and radio in Taiwan, Connecticut, Michigan and Arkansas. She has been interviewed and reviewed by the New York Concert Review, China Daily News, Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Log Cabin Democrat, UCA Today and The Echo. Ms. Hsu is a sought after adjudicator for many competitions in Missouri, Louisiana and Arkansas. She was a presenter at the American String Teachers Association National Conference last year. Her recent performances have taken her to Costa Rica, Florida, Michigan, and Oklahoma.

Born in Libya, Ms. Hsu started the violin in Taiwan with N.F. Liao. As a scholarship and honor student, she attended the Manhattan School of Music, Yale University, Hochschule fur Musik Mannheim, University of Heidelberg, and the Eastman School of Music, where she completed her Master and Doctoral degrees. Her violin teachers include Albert Markov, Sidney Harth, Camilla Wicks, and Catherine Tait. Her most influential teacher is Jeremy Zhu in Rochester, NY.

Ms. Hsu joined the faculty of the University of Central Arkansas in 1996. She is currently Associate Professor of Violin and Chamber Music at the university and concertmaster of the Conway Symphony Orchestra. She teaches at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan in the summer. Ms. Hsu is the Arkansas State President for the American String Teachers Association.
