Kappa Kappa Psi

Beta Chapter - University of Central Arkansas
Be it known that Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Fraternity
for College Bandmembers is an
organization operating exclusively in the field of the college
and university bands, and for the
following several purposes:
(1) To promote the existence and welfare of the college
and university bands
and to cultivate at large a wholesome respect for their
activities and
achievements.
(2) To honor outstanding bandmembers through privilege
of membership
extended as a reward for technical achievement and appreciation
for the
best in music.
(3) To stimulate campus leadership and promulgate an uncompromising
respect
through the medium of the college band for gracious conduct,
good taste,
and unswerving loyalty.
(4) To foster a close relationship between college bands
and promote a high
average of attainment by the performance of good music and
selection of
worthwhile projects.
(5) To provide a pleasant and helpful social experience
for all engaged in
college band work and to cooperate with other musical organizations
in
any manner consistent with the purposes of the institution
at which chapters
are located.
Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia

Iota Chapter - University of Central Arkansas
Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is the nation's oldest and largest
professional music fraternity for men. It was founded
on October 6, 1898 at the New England Conservatory of Music
in Boston. There are over 210 Chapters and
Colonies across the United States.
The Primary Purpose of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Shall Be:
* To encourage and actively promote the highest standards
of creativity, performance, education,
and research in music in America
Further Purposes Shall Be:
* To develop and encourage loyalty to the Alma Mater;
* To foster the mutual welfare and brotherhood of students
of music;
* To develop the truest fraternal spirit among its members;
* To instill in all people an awareness of music's important
role in the enrichment of the human spirit.
Sigma Alpha Iota
Zeta Chi Chapter
- University of Central Arkansas
Sigma Alpha Iota, International Music Fraternity, was organized
in 1903 "to form chapters of music
students and musicians who shall by their influence and
their musical interest uphold the highest ideals
of a music education; to raise the standard of productive
musical work among the women students of
colleges, conservatories and universities." As of August
1998, its membership included 184 active
college chapters and 113 alumnae chapters throughout the
United States.
The Purposes of Sigma Alpha Iota:
* TO FORM chapters of women college students and alumnae
who have a sincere interest in music.
* TO UPHOLD the highest standards of music.
* TO FURTHER the development of music in America and throughout
the world.
* TO GIVE inspiration and encouragement to members.
* TO ORGANIZE the cultural life of Sigma Alpha Iota members
as a contributing factor to their educational growth.
* TO SUPPORT the ideals and goals of the member's Alma Mater;
* TO ADHERE to the highest standards of citizenship in school,
community and fraternity life.

MISSION STATEMENT:
Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority provides
service to
collegiate bands, encourages the advancement of women in
the band
profession, and promotes and enriches an appreciation of
band music
through recognition, leadership development, and education
of its
members.
PURPOSES:
Be it known that Tau Beta Sigma, National Honorary Sorority
for
members of the college band, is an organization operating
exclusively
in the field of the college and university bands, for the
following
purposes:
1. To promote the existence and welfare of the collegiate
bands and to
create a respect and appreciation for band activities and
achievements
among the listening public everywhere.
2. To honor outstanding members of the band through privilege
of
membership, in the Sisterhood, extended in recognition of
musical
achievement, demonstrated leadership, and an enthusiastic
approach to
band activities.
3. To develop leadership through active participation
with the band,
and through it, to strengthen those traits of conduct, thought,
and
idealism which characterize the responsible membership of
the band.
4. To encourage a close relationship between collegiate
bands and
promote a high average of attainment by the performance
of good
music and selection of worthwhile projects.
5. To provide a meaningful and worthwhile social experience
for all
engaged in collegiate band work, and to cooperate with other
musical
organizations and societies in every manner consistent with
our mutual
purposes and those of the institution at which chapters
are located.
