Areas of Study - Voice
The vocal program at the University of Central Arkansas,
with a distinguished faculty of international performers,
includes courses and private study for preparing the voice
student for a career in music – be it performance
or education. Many of our students have gone on to successful
teaching careers in elementary and high schools throughout
the state and region. Several students have gone on to prestigious
graduate programs throughout the country and are enjoying
careers as professional singers both in the United States
and abroad, in the Musical Theater and Opera fields. UCA
voice students are regularly participating and winning vocal
competitions on the state, regional, and national levels.
Private voice instruction is the core strength of the
program. Weekly lessons and performance classes focus on
technique and performance style and practice. Other courses
include Foreign Language Diction, Vocal Pedagogy, Vocal
Literature, and Opera Literature, along with other music
courses in Theory, and Music History. Participation in ensembles
completes your voice education.
The voice faculty at UCA welcomes you to this exciting
program and looks forward to helping you achieve your dreams
as a singer. Thank you for your interest and we look forward
to working with you in the near future!
