Robin Becker is proud to have grown up in Hackensack, New Jersey, even though she left at 18 and never went back. She has lived in Philadelphia, Austin, San Francisco, Baton Rouge and Kirksville, Missouri, where she taught literature and writing at Truman State University.
Robin is a pop culture junkie and her fiction reflects this. She has written a collection of short stories centered on, around and about roller coasters and theme parks. Selections from that thrill ride of a book have been published in Blue Mesa Review, The Griffin, Button and more. She has just finished the first literary zombie novel: the main character is a sentient former professor of semiotics, a very smart corpse indeed.
In addition to writing, Robin plays guitar and has been in a slew of grrrl bands. Check out www.myspace.com/happyassrocks for her most recent punk rock incarnation. She also enjoys cooking, canoeing, canoodling and teaching writing. |
