University Center for Communication Support
The
primary mission of the University Center for Communication Support is to help
students become more confident, more effective, more self-sufficient
communicators. To that end, the center offers individual assistance with all
types of writing and oral presentations. Trained graduates and undergraduates
staff the center and assist students with writing and public speaking at any
stage of the communication process, including generating a topic, developing and
organizing ideas, and revising and polishing drafts and presentations. While we
do not edit students' written drafts, we do offer information about particular
usage problems and the conventions of various styles of both writing and
speaking.
We work one-on-one to give
you:
- assistance with writing or oral presentations in
progress for any and all types of writing or oral presentations at any stage
of the communication process
- response from interested, helpful readers and listeners
- instruction/information about formatting, editing, etc.
Students
may use the Center's services on either a drop-in or an appointment basis.
Appointments are encouraged, and students may make, change, or cancel
appointments by calling 450-5123.
If
you have questions about the Center's services, please call 450-5123 or
450-3464 or e-mail the director, Sophie Bradford at sophieb@mail.uca.edu
