The Department of Writing and Speech at the University of Central Arkansas announces the availability of two tenure-track positions beginning Fall 2006.  Successful candidates should have the capacity to teach, research, advise, and provide leadership to an independent writing program.  Our primary need is for specialists in composition theory and pedagogy.  College teaching preferred.  Successful candidates would also ideally have a second area of emphasis in one of the following areas:  rhetoric, writing center administration, linguistics, writing across- the- curriculum, creative writing or technical writing.

The department is housed in its own newly opened, multimillion dollar facility at the gate of the university.  The department's faculty members teach and advise the undergraduate majors in writing and linguistics.  Additional information about the department and its programs may be obtained at the University's website:  www.uca.edu/cfac.   Review of applications begins January 15, 2006 and continues until the positions are filled.
