Vortex
is the literary and art magazine of the University of Central
Arkansas, published once a year in the spring semester.
Vortex is run for,
with, and by UCA students who comprise the editorial staff and
make all editorial decisions.
Vortex
accepts work in a wide range of literary genres: poetry, fiction,
creative non-fiction, stage plays, and screenplays. It also
publishes photographs as well as photographic representations of
student artwork (drawings, paintings, sculptures).

SUBMISSIONS
DEADLINE: The deadline for the 2004/2005 issue is
December 1, 2004.
SUBMISSIONS
PROCESS: All submissions must be in electronic format. You
may submit work on a disk formatted in MS Word. Bring the disk to
the drop box office outside the Vortex Office in the Student
Center, 2nd floor or to the drop box outside the
Communication Center in Thompson Hall. You may also e-mail your
submission in an MS Word attachment to
TheVortex2004@hotmail.com. The name of the author should
appear in the file name but not on the text itself.
VISUAL ART
SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES: A visual art submission should be
submitted to the physical location only. The name of the artist
should appear on the back of the work.
IMPORTANT:
Do not send your only copy of anything!
Vortex is not
responsible for lost or damaged work.
WARNING: If submissions do
not adhere to the guidelines, they will be automatically rejected.
