Public Relations is an exciting, fast-paced profession
that creates and promotes goodwill between an organization
and its public.
UCA graduates have a wide range of career opportunities,
such as:
• corporate communications
• university relations
• community affairs
• public opinion research
• governmental lobbying
• campaign direction
• promotional materials
Degree Requirements
UCA Students earn either a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor
of Science degree in Speech and Theatre with an emphasis
in Public Relations. The program combines classroom study
with practical, hands-on experience in communication areas
from press release writing to television production to publication
preparation. The program also includes an internship in
the corporate world to assure that UCA students learn first
hand the challenges of the public relations professional
and begin the networking so essential to career success.
These degrees require completion of 124 hours including
l) general education component, 2) specific degree requirements,
3) a major as described below, and 4) a minor as arranged
through the student's minor advisor.
