Statement of Program Purpose
The mission of the Master of Science Program in Occupational Therapy is to provide occupational therapists the opportunity to develop an advanced role emphasis in one of three areas, and to conduct research within the context of these areas: manager, educator, or master clinician. The role emphasis is supported by a core curriculum which enables the therapist to deepen his/her knowledge of the occupational therapy theories and research that underlie current practice.
Intended Outcomes/Objectives Assessment Procedures and Criteria
1. Graduates of the MS Program in Occupational Therapy will assume advanced practice, administrative, or faculty positions.

la. At least 60% of MS program graduates will assume advanced practice, administrative, or faculty positions within two years after graduation.

Procedure: graduate survey

1b. At least 90% of employers will evaluate graduates of the MS program graduates as performing at the "advanced" level when compared to baccalaureate graduates.

2. Graduates of the MS Program in Occupational Therapy will demonstrate a commitment to leadership and service to the profession.

2. At least 75% of program graduates will report service and/or leadership activities within the state and national professional associations.

3. Graduates will demonstrate a commitment to research to test the theories of occupation and the efficacy of occupational therapy services.

3. At least 60% of program graduates will report participation in occupation-related research within three years of graduation.

4. Graduates will seek educational experiences to continue to develop knowledge and skill in their role emphasis areas.

4. Graduates will report attending an advanced level workshop or conference in their role emphasis or specialty area each year.
