The Department of Family & Consumer Sciences offers a Bachelor of Science in Education degree/Family & Consumer Sciences. Certification for teaching family and consumer sciences in secondary schools is earned with the BSE degree.
In addition to ongoing teacher shortages in most geographical areas, career opportunities in business, industry and the public sector exist for the graduate with an education degree in family and consumer sciences.
