Environmental science is an interdisciplinary area of study that includes both applied and theoretical aspects of human impact on Earth. It integrates natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities as a means of envisioning and exploring specific solutions that improve the health of the world around us. The present generation of students will be responsible for redesigning key aspects of our basic cultural framework to reduce our impact upon our environment and transform our society into one that is sustainable. There is no better place to begin this process than right here, on the university campus. After completing an interdisciplinary core curriculum, students will select one of three emphasis tracks: Biology, Chemistry, or Planning & Administration. Graduates from the Environmental Science degree program will be prepared to fulfill the growing demand for environmental scientists in academic, government, and private industry settings.
