Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems

Brooks Pearson, Ph.D.

Dr. Pearson arrived at UCA in 2005. His Ph.D. was obtained from Indiana University after which he was a geography professor at the University of West Georgia for six years. He is skilled in a wide range of GIS applications and is the primary facilitater of the courses in the Certificate Program. One of his research interests is the use of GIS in analyzing the accuracy of historic cartography.

Rajrani Kalra, ABD

Ms. Kalra began her career at UCA in August 2007. Her Ph.D. will be taken from Kent State University. Her specialties are economic and urban geography, GIS applications in those specialties, and the Geography of South Asia. Research interests continue to be in economic and urban geography and specific applications to the American South.

Brooks Green, D.A.

Dr. Green began his career at UCA in 1980. He developed the computer cartography and remote sensing courses and was heavily involved in creating the minor in geographic information science and the graduate certificate in GIS. Dr. Green's research interest, which include GIS applications, are land use issues in the Pra River Watershed in the Ryazan' Oblast, Russia.
