GRADUATE COUNCIL MINUTES

April 19, 2001

The Graduate Council met in regular session on April 19, 2001 in BBA 220. Members present were: Donna Foss, Ken Freiley, Terry James, Elaine McNiece, Chair, Margaret Morgan, Armand Picou, Ira Saltz, Jeff Showell, Conrad Shumaker, and Glenda Thurman. Members absent: Cathy Caldwell, Linda Griffith, Ronn Hy, Don Jones, John Murphy, Tom Oxner, Sheila Stroman, Doug Isanhart, and LaKeitha Hartfield. Also in attendance Jonathan Glenn and Wayne Stengel.

1. Graduate Council Minutes from March 15, 2001 were approved as distributed.

2. Subcommittee I recommended approval on the following Graduate Faculty Application:

Livshits, Irene MATH 3 year (2004) 5305, 5306, 5362, 5363, 5385, 5371, 5372, 5340, 6305, 6342, 6315

III. New Course Proposals: Subcommittee II recommended the following:

ENGL 5304 Studies in English and American Literature

Vote to approve including proxy votes, 14 yes and 2 abstain.

ENGL 5360 - Withdrawn pending clarification of undergraduate double listing.

PTHY 7365 Differential Diagnosis in Physical Therapy

PTHY 7351 Geriatric Neurology

Vote to approve, including proxy votes, was unanimous.

IV. Concurrent Enrollment Policy for Nursing: Subcommittee III recommended approval of the MSN Degree Articulation with Arkansas Tech University.

Vote to approve was unanimous, including proxy votes.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 2:35 p.m. The next meeting will be May 10, BBA 220, 1 - 2 p.m.
