GRADUATE COUNCIL MINUTES

   December 12, 2002

 

The Graduate Council met in regular session on December 12, 2002 in BBA 220.  The following members were present: J. Arn, S. Butcher, D. Dussourd, E. Fox, P. Hamilton, D. Jones,  J. Lamar, J. Lammers, E. McNiece, Chair, B. Melchior, J. Murphy, A. Picou, J. Showell, S. Vanderslice, D. Whistler, S. Brezee, B. Kearney, and J. Kennedy.  Other attendees, Gabriel Esteban, Jamie Zambrano.  Members absent: K. Atkinson, D. Kim, G. Thurman, and S. Stroman.

Revision of the MA Assessment Plan Objectives and Exit Proficiency Requirement in Spanish

 

Following discussion, motion to approve subject to final review of corrections by the Director of Planning and Assessment passed unanimously.

 

Curriculum Change

 

GEOG            Program Admission Requirement

 

In addition to the requirement for admission to the Graduate School, applicants must have successfully completed at least one college-level GIS course or frequently use GIS in their current employment setting.

 

Vote to approve was unanimous.

 

IV.            Staffing Plan for MA in Spanish

 

Subcommittee III recommended approval, vote was unanimous.
