GRADUATE COUNCIL MINUTES

The Graduate Council met in regular session on February 21, 2002, in BBA room 220. Members present: Joe Arn, Keith Atkinson, Cathy Caldwell, Sarah Charton, Paul Hamilton, Terry James, Jane Lammers, Katherine Larson, Elaine McNiece, Chair, Bonnie Melchior, John Murphy, Armand Picou, Ira Saltz, Jeff Showell, Glenda Thurman, and Nicole Hare. Members absent: Linda Griffith, Ronn Hy, Don Jones, Venita Lovelace-Chandler, Margaret Morgan, Sheila Stroman, and Tanner Chapman.

 

1.                  Graduate Council Minutes from January 24, 2002, were approved as distributed.

 

2.                  Subcommittee II recommended approval of the New Program Proposal from the Department of Middle/Secondary Education & Instructional Technology:

 

Master of Science in Training Systems

 

Unanimously approved.

 

Subcommittee II recommended approval of a new course proposal:

 

ENGL              5360                History and Structure of the English Language

 

Unanimously approved with suggested corrections.

New prerequisites attached.

 

 

 


Prefix change:

 

All FLAN prefixes will be changed to WLAN to reflect new department name.

 

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 1:55 and immediately went into executive session to consider a student appeal.
