GRADUATE COUNCIL MINUTES

June 19, 2001

The Graduate Council met in regular session on May 10, 2001 in BBA 220. Members present were: Donna Foss, Ken Freiley, Ron Hy, Terry James, Don Jones, Jane Lammers, Elaine McNiece, Chair, Margaret Morgan, Armand Picou, and Glenda Thurman. Also in attendance Jonathan Glenn and Phillip Bailey.

I. Graduate Council Minutes from May 10, 2001 were approved as distributed.

II. Subcommittee I recommended approval on the following Graduate Faculty Applications:

III. Subcommittee II recommended approval of the New Program/New Courses for MS in College Student Personnel Services Administration (replaces the existing MS in Student Personnel Services in Higher Education and moves the program from the Department of Psychology and Counseling to the GSMLA):

Recommendation to approve was unanimous pending revisions in the courses syllabi, and clarification on the number of times the Internship could be taken. The council suggested a second course number if it is to be taken twice. (Added in list above)

IV. Subcommittee III recommended approval of the Proposal to change the MSE to an MA in Spanish with a New Course Proposal

SPAN 6380 Thesis Research

Recommendation to approve, pending revision on the proposal, with a vote of 8 yes, 3 proxy and 1 abstain. Motion carried.
