GRADUATE COUNCIL MINUTES

September 20, 2001

The Graduate Council met in regular session on September 20, 2001 in the Student Center Room 213. Members present: Joe Arn, Cathy Caldwell, Paul Hamilton, Don Jones, Jane Lammers, Katherine Larson, Venita Lovelace-Chandler, Elaine McNiece, Bonnie Melchior, Margaret Morgan, John Murphy, Ira Saltz, Jeff Showell, Glenda Thurman, and Terry James, ex-officio. Members absent: Keith Atkinson, Linda Griffith, Ronn Hy, Armand Picou, and Sheila Stroman.

1. Graduate Council Minutes from June 19, 2001: Approved as distributed.

II. Election of Student Member of Council: Nicole Hare was elected a graduate student member of the Council for 2001-2002. She is a first year Health Sciences major.

VI. An awards ceremony was held to honor the 2001-02 recipients of the Robert M. McLauchlin Graduate Scholarship: Jamie L. Estes, a student in Speech-Language Pathology, and Sancy R. Faulk, a student in Counseling Psychology.

The next Graduate Council meeting will be October 18, 2001 in Torreyson Library Conference Room 203. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 2:00 p.m.
