Dr. Theman R. Taylor

Theman R. Taylor, Sr. did his undergraduate work at Compton Junior College (Compton, Calif.) receiving an A.A. Degree in History with a Social Studies minor, and at California State University Dominguez Hills, receiving the B.A. degree in History with a minor in African American Studies.

Dr. Taylor's graduate work was at Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles, Calif.) receiving the M.A. degree in History with the thesis "The Revolt in Saint Dominque: The First Black Government in the West, its Impact on the Louisiana Purchase," and at the University of California at Santa Barbara, receiving the Ph.D. degree in History with his dissertation titled "Race and Class: Cyril Briggs and the African Blood Brotherhood."

Dr. Taylor's fields of study are American History, West Africa, African-American History, American Women, and the American Presidency.
