flash   UCA ATEP Becomes Accredited !  flash

On September 15, 2004, UCA received notification that the Athletic Training Education Program passed the accreditation process. The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Athletic Training (JRC-AT) granted accreditation.

In the fall 1999, UCA established its Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training and initiated the process of becoming an accredited program. Since the program’s inception many faculty, adminstrators, support staff and health care professionals have contributed to UCA meeting the CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines. A site visit by the JRC-AT  was completed in April 2004. The role of the site visit team was to confirm the accuracy of the information in the Self-Study Report submitted in September 2003.

As a result of acquiring accreditation, graduates of the UCA ATEP are eligible to sit for the Board of Certification Exam for the Athletic Trainer.
