Dr. Dwight Langston

A native of South Carolina, Dr. Langston graduated with a B.A. in English and German from Furman University in 1966. After a year as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Freiburg in Germany, he continued his graduate studies at Tulane University, where he received the Ph.D. in German in 1973. 

He began his teaching career instructing English as a Foreign Language for a year at the Lingua-Schule in Hagen, Germany. He then taught German and French for thirteen years at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, where he served for four years as chairman of the Foreign Language Department. 

In 1986 he joined the Department of World Languages  at the University of Central Arkansas as Assistant Professor of German and French. He is presently Associate Professor of World Languages.

Dr. Langston has published in the area of foreign language pedagogy and is active in the Arkansas chapter of the American Association of Teachers of German. He served for four years as this organization's Secretary/Treasurer, as Vice-President from 1996-1998 and is immediate past president of the state AATG.
