Department of Political Science: Organizations and Clubs
Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, is the only honor society for college and university students of government in the United States. At present, there are some 620 Pi Sigma Alpha chapters on campuses across the country. Pi Sigma Alpha is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies. The UCA Pre-Law Society is a student club that helps address the needs of undergraduate students interested in going to law school. Any student at UCA who is interested in attending law school may join the UCA Pre-Law Society. The Society organizes speakers to give presentations on campus about different aspects of the law and legal careers. It also brings in speakers who can provide guidance for successfully being admitted to and finishing law school. Student Alliance for the International Criminal Court (SAICC)
The SAICC is a student organization that seeks to educate UCA students about the International Criminal Court (ICC). The ICC is a permanent international tribunal established in 2002 to prosecute individuals accused of crimes against humanity, war crimes, and genocide. The SAICC also support efforts on the UCA campus and elsewhere to encourage the eventual (re)signing of the Rome Statute of the ICC by the president of the U.S. and the ratification of the Rome Statute by the U.S. Senate. UCA Model United Nations (MUN) Organization
Students interested in the Model United Nations (MUN) program, interested in serving on the secretariat or staff of the Arkansas Model United Nations (AMUN) conference held each November at UCA, or interested in participating as a delegate to the Midwest Model United Nations (MMUN) conference held each year in February in St. Louis, Missouri are encouraged to join this UCA student organization.
