COUNCIL OF DEANS
January 31, 2001
The Council of Deans met in special session at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2001, in the Provost's Conference Room. John Mosbo presided, and the following council members were present: Sam Buchanan, Bob Everding, Neil Hattlestad, Joe Horton, Maurice Lee, Jane McHaney, Elaine McNiece, Sally Roden, and Ron Toll.
Deborah Walz was present to consider the promotional grant request not acted upon at the previous meeting. Horton moved to fund the proposal, and Hattlestad seconded the motion. Following discussion, "Technology Transfer Through Electronic Collaboration and Virtual Teaming," written by Rebecca Gatlin-Watts was recommended for $2,310. Consensus was reached that since the budgets of the two proposals totaled less than the amount allotted, the remaining monies would be allocated to the first promotional grant funded.
McHaney distributed information about a Technical Assistance Workshop for Praxis II Assessments, and asked deans to encourage faculty from the knowledge-based areas to attend one of the meetings.
Hattlestad requested that deans give him any thoughts regarding a health clinic on campus.
Mosbo: (1) distributed a draft outline to develop a faculty leadership program; (2) asked deans to review the Guided Study Report prepared by Kim Bradford.
The special session adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
