Examine our website closely – you will discover excellent resources which are the bases of very strong academic/clinical programs.  Our Department has Bachelor’s (BS) and Master’s (MS) Degree Programs in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree Consortium in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  We have 15 faculty, all licensed by our state and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, including nine who hold the Ph.D. Degree.  All areas of SLP are covered in courses offered by faculty with corresponding specializations.  

Our building houses essentially all of our resources and activities, including all faculty offices, two classrooms, a conference room,  Augmentative Communication and Voice Laboratories, 10 clinic rooms, a clinic observation room, a student computer/work room, and there are adjacent student and faculty parking lots.  Our two Secretaries handle all Department and Clinic clerical activities, and supervise student workers. 

The BS Program provides preparation for graduate studies, while the MS Degree is the entry level into the SLP profession – the latter is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of ASHA.  Our MS graduates meet the requirements for ASHA (national) certification and state licensure, and for many years all have been employed shortly after graduation, in healthcare settings, schools, etc., in a variety of states (including Alaska, Illinois, Mississippi, Texas, and Arkansas).  Employment opportunities for MS graduates are plentiful -- with a median salary of $52,000 per year -- and are expected to remain so, in the foreseeable future.  Our Ph.D. Program is a Consortium with the  University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences/University of Arkansas at Little Rock.  It involves 30 faculty, 20 with the Ph.D. Degree, and offers many specializations. Ph.D. graduates have numerous university faculty positions to consider, as well as other employment possibilities.
