1. Junior status with a minimum grade point average of 2.7
2. A GPA of 3.0 in the three pre-application courses:
   - SPTH 2300; Introduction to Clinical Speech
   - SPTH 2306; Anatomy & Physiology I
   - SPTH 2322; Applied Phonetics
3. Three references from outside the department
4. A handwritten autobiography

Prior to being admitted to the program in speech-language pathology, students may only enroll in the following courses:

• SPTH 2300 Introduction to Clinical Speech
• SPTH 2322 Applied Phonetics
• SPTH 2303 Beginning Sign Language
• SPTH 2306 Anatomy & Physiology I
• SPTH 4310 Assistive Technology

Once admitted, a student's progress in the Speech-Language Pathology program is reviewed routinely. To remain in good standing the student must:

1. Maintain a minimum overall grade point average of 2.7
2. Maintain a minimum major grade point average of 3.0
3. Observe the fundamental rules of ethical conduct as described in the Code of Ethics of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

A student wishing to declare Speech-Language Pathology as a major should contact the department and schedule an initial advising meeting with:
