Minutes Undergraduate Council Meeting

February 17, 2004

Members Present:

Nelle Bedner, Tammy Benson, Joe Cangelosi, Nealon DeVore, Richard Gaughan, Mary Harlan, David Harvey, Wes Hennings, Joe Horton, Jennifer Johnson, Rahul Mehta, Elizabeth Smith, Misty Williams, Ann Witcher, Tony Sitz, and Valerie Williams.

Members Absent:

John Choinski, Charles Harvey, Dawn Jakubowski, and Curtis Wilder,

The items of the agenda included:

1. Meeting was called to order by Dr. Sally A. Roden, Chair.

2. Minutes of the January 27, 2004 meeting were approved with minor corrections

3. Wes Hennings was present and Curtis Wilder was absent

4. Under the ECON 3330 proposal, #2, change spelling of perquisite to prerequisite

5. Report of Subcommittee I – Joe Cangelosi, Chair

Dr. Cangelosi moved to approve adding double majors and double minors to transcripts. Ms. Williams seconded the motion. Discussion followed. Motion passed unanimously.

6. Due to the Division of Undergraduate Studies submitting the next proposal, Chair Roden asked Elizabeth Smith to act as interim chair for the following subcommittee report.

Report of Subcommittee II – Dr. Rahul Mehta, Chair.

Dr. Mehta moved to approve the change in the suspension policy with minor editorial changes. Dr. Horton seconded the motion. Discussion
followed. Motion passed 10 yes, 4 no, 1 abstention.

5. Report of Subcommittee III – Dr. Nelle Bedner, Chair

Dr. Bedner moved to approve the change to the MIS minor.

Requirements: MIS 2343, 1370 or CSCI 1470, MIS 3301, 3328, 3362, 3365 or 4329 and (3363 or 4301 or 4339.) MIS 3301, 3328, 3362, 3365, 4329, 3363, 4301 and 4339 will change from electives to required courses.

Dr. Horton seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.

    c. KPED 2353 – bulletin revision
    d. KPED 3301 – bulletin revision
    e. KPED 3335 – bulletin revision and prerequisite change

2. MSIT 4320 – Integrated Curriculum, Planning & Assessment title change to MSIT 4320 – Integrated Curriculum, Planning & Assessment: Middle Level

3. Editorial change for MIS Undergraduate Scholars Program – MIS Department section of the Undergraduate Bulletin.

4. College of Business course deletions.
