Agenda included:

1. Meeting was called to order at 1:40 p.m. by Dr. Sally Roden, Chair
    
2. Minutes of the November 26, 2007 meeting were approved as circulated.
    
3. Chair Roden welcomed returning member, Mary Harlan, to the council.
   
   
4. Dr. Bratton, Chair of Subcommittee I, moved to recommend approval to reconfigure the core requirements for the geography major and the geography minor; new course GEOG 3300 – World Regional Geography; new course GEOG 3346 – Geography of South Asia, deletion of GEOG 2361 – World Regional Geography I; and deletion of GEOG 2362 – World Regional Geography II. Dr. Horton seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.

    5.    Dr. Deborah Kuster, Chair of Subcommittee III, moved to recommend approval to change MATH 2335 – Transition to Advanced
           Mathematics from an elective to a required course and MATH 3362 – Abstract Algebra II from a required course to an elective for the B.S.E.
           Degree in Mathematics Education. Dr. Horton seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
