Meeting was called to order at 1:40 p.m. by Dr. Sally Roden, Chair
Minutes of the November 28, 2006 were accepted as circulated.
Report of Subcommittee I--Richard Gaughan, Chair
Chair Gaughan reported that the course proposal for Philosophy 3330 Philosophy of Human Nature had been withdrawn.
Chair Gaughan moved and Joe Horton seconded approval of a new course, MATH 2335 - Transition to Advanced Mathematics. Discussion followed. Motion passed unanimously.
Chair Gaughan moved and Joe Horton seconded approval of MATH 3331 -Differential Equations be changed from an elective to a required course for Math majors. Discussion followed. Motion passed unanimously.
Chair Gaughan moved and Joe Horton seconded approval of BIOL 1305 Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology. Discussion followed. Dr. Steve Dinkelacker represented the Department of Biology to address questions. Brian Bolter moved and George Bratton seconded to table the motion. Motion to table passed. Yes: 11 No: 5
Chair Gaughan moved and Steve Zeltmann seconded to approve course number change for BIOL 4402 Vertebrate Zoology to BIOL 3410. Discussion followed. Motion passed unanimously.

Chair Burley moved and Patty Phelps seconded to create ANTH as a prefix for new minor within Department of Sociology. Motion passed unanimously.
Chair Burley moved and Patty Phelps seconded to approve a new minor in Anthropology to include 12 new ANTH courses and ANTH as another name for two existing SOC courses.
Create additional prefix for two SOC courses:
ANTH 1302 as another name for SOC 1302
ANTH 3315 as another name for SOC 3315

Dean Roden, Council Chair, distributed "UCA Principles of Electronically Offered Courses" which was developed by a UCA faculty committee using curriculum form 2-1 to present information items to appropriate committees and councils.
