Minutes Undergraduate Council Meeting
October 16, 2007
Members Present:
Kathleen Atkins, Brian Bolter,
George Bratton, Lynn Burley, Jim Downey, Shoudong Feng, Lorien Foote, Brooks
Green, Haley Heath, Joe Horton, Chenyi Hu, Jeff Jarvis, Deborah Kuster, Jeff
Whittingham, Valerie Williams, and Tony Sitz.
Members Absent:
Debbie Howell and Steve Zeltmann.
Agenda included:
- Meeting was called to order at 1:40 p.m. by Dr. Sally
Roden, Chair
- Minutes of the September 18, 2007 meeting were
approved as circulated.
- Chair Roden welcomed new members to the council:
Kathleen Atkins, Jim Downey, Shoudong Feng and Debbie Howell.
- Dr. Kuster, Chair of Subcommittee III, presented the
subcommittee report to the council with no recommendation. Dr. Foote moved
to recommend approval of new course EDUC 1240 – Basic Educational Technology
Skills; new course EDUC 4210 – Integration of Technology Into Teaching &
Learning; and deletion of EDUC 1220 – Educational Technology. Dr. Horton
seconded the motion. Discussion followed. Debbie Barnes, Assistant to the
Dean, and Brenda Linn, Middle & Secondary Education, Business/Marketing
Technology Education, were invited in to answer council questions.
Discussion continued. Motion passed 12 yes, 2 no, 0 abstentions.
Information Items:
- GEOG 3335 – Geography of
Russia title change to Geography of Europe and Russia
- RADG 2233 – Radiographic Procedures III title change
to Radiographic Production and Characteristics I
