Minutes Undergraduate Council Meeting
September 18, 2007
Members
Present:
Brian Bolter, George Bratton,
Lynn Burley, Lorien Foote, Haley Heath, Joe Horton, Chenyi Hu, Deborah Kuster,
Han-chieh Wei, Jeff Whittingham and Tony Sitz.
Members Absent:
Brooks Green, Mary Harlan, Jeff Jarvis, and Steve Zeltmann.
Agenda included:
- Meeting was called to order at 1:40
p.m. by Dr. Sally Roden, Chair
- Motion was made by Dr. Bolter and seconded by Dr. Hu to
approve Dr. Lynn Burley as secretary of the Undergraduate Council for the
fall 2007 semester. Motion was approved
unanimously.
- Motion was made by Dr. Horton and seconded by Dr. Bolter
to continue with the hand vote with the understanding that a closed ballot
can be called at any time. Motion passed
unanimously.
- Chair Roden welcomed Haley Heath, SGA Executive
President, to the council for the 2007-2008 academic year.
- Chair Roden read the charge to the Undergraduate Council
for the 2007/2008 academic year.
- Minutes of the April 17, 2007 and July 30, 2007 meetings
were approved as circulated.
- Dr. Bratton moved to recommend
approval of a new minor program in Public Administration. Dr. Foote
seconded the motion. Discussion followed. Dr. Kim Hoffman was invited in
to answer council questions. Discussion continued. Dr. Bolter offered a
friendly amendment to include approval contingent upon approval by the
Academic Planning & Assessment Committee. Dr. Bratton seconded the
amendment. Motion passed unanimously.
