Minutes Undergraduate Council Meeting
March 28, 2006
Members Present:
Joe Anderson, Lynn Burley, Lorien Foote, Brooks Green, Richard Gaughan, Mary Harlan, Joe Horton, Bill Kordsmeier, Erick McCarthy, Han-Chieh Wei, and Valerie Williams.

The items of the agenda included:
1. Meeting was called to order by Dr. Sally A. Roden, Chair.
2. Minutes of the February 21, 2006 meeting were approved as circulated.
3. Report of Subcommittee I – Bill Kordsmeier, Chair.
Chair Kordsmeier moved to recommend approval to change the prerequisite for BIOL 2407 – Structure and Function of the Human Body II from BIOL 2405 or BIOL 2406 to BIOL 2406 (Human Body I) with a "C" grade or better; BIOL 4418 – Biology of the Reptilia (new course); and BIOL 4428 – Animal Physiological Ecology (new course). Dr. Horton seconded the motion. Discussion followed. Motion passed unanimously.
Chair Kordsmeier moved to table GEOG 3318 - Biogeography. Dr. Horton seconded the motion. Motion passed 5 yes, 4 no, 1 abstention.
Chair Kordsmeier moved to recommend approval of PSCI 4328 – Dynamics of Democratization (new course.) Dr. Green seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
4. Report of Subcommittee II – Lynn Burley, Interim Chair
Interim Chair Burley moved to recommend approval of curriculum changes under the Department of Mass Communication and Theatre:
1. Take the current journalism and television emphases and reconfigure into three new emphases: Broadcast Journalism, Online Journalism and Print Journalism.
