The Undergraduate Council will meet on Tuesday, September 25, 2001, during X-Period, in Irby 120.  The following items will be considered:

Action Items:

I.         Deletion of courses from the Occupational Therapy major:
           
a.            BIOL 3350 – Neuroscience
           
b.            SOC 4323 – Health Strategies for Multicultural Populations
           
c.            SOC 4334 – Medical Sociology

II.       Subcommittee II recommendation of Foreign Language courses:
           
a.            FLAN 1305 – Level I Intensive English Core Program
           
b.            FLAN 1306 – Level 2 Intensive English Core Program
           
c.            FLAN 2300 – Level 3 Intensive English Core Program
           
d.            Recommendation that students completing the 15 core hours at any level in the Intensive English program with an overall 2.5 GPA will receive three credits that will count as lower division elective credit toward the 124 required to graduate.  A maximum of nine IEP hours may be counted toward graduation.

I.          Prefix changes for Early Childhood and Special Education:

II.         Prefix changes for Middle/Secondary Education & Institutional Technologies

Subcommittee I is asked to review the proposal to delete courses from the Occupational Therapy major, and make a recommendation.

Subcommittee II (Becky Williams) is asked to review the Foreign Language proposals that were returned to the Undergraduate Council by the Council of Deans, and make a recommendation.
