Sophomore Year Experience:
Live Well, Lead Well

The Sophomore Year Experience Program (SYE) was established in 2003 as a program focused on the unique needs of the second year students.  Built on the residential college model SYE is the next step for students completing their first year of college. SYE encourages students to become active citizens in the great community through service projects and exploring their leadership potential.

A Second Year Living/Learning Community
Our theme is “Live Well, Lead Well.” As a program we are committed helping all students identify and develop their leadership skills. Furthermore, we strive to help students make strong connections between their skills and their academic and career goals. We do this with the help of our Namesakes. Namesakes are faculty and staff who are committed to assisting the sophomore students succeed.

Why Should I Apply for SYE?
Simply put, SYE focuses on the unique needs of the second year student.

Are you convinced that SYE is the place for you?
To be eligible for SYE, you must be a second year student and have completed at least 24 credit hours. You can apply to live in SYE through the My Housing online process if you currently live in UCA Housing.

Are you entering SYE this Fall?  See this greeting from Faculty-in-Residence, Melissa Crawford.
