Residence Halls

State Residential College
State Residential College provides community style living in double occupancy rooms. To live in State Residential College, students must apply though the Office of Undergraduate Studies, as well as through the Department of Housing and Residence Life.

Why Choose State Residential College?
State offers convenience. State is located next to the Christian Cafeteria and the football field. The Student Center and Farris Center are easily accessible. Its very active Hall Council sponsors a number of educational and social programs as well as a number of annual events for the hall. The residents assistants and student mentors not only aid in the day-to-day needs but offer programs to help the students in their overall development. By choosing to live in State, you will became part of a strong tradition in Hall Council and Intramural Sports.

What About Security?
Security is a shared responsibility between you and the University. UCA is committed to your safety and State Hall will provide you with an in-hall escort policy and 24-hour access to the UCA Police Department. You should always lock your room and keep your key, not loaning it to anyone else or hiding it somewhere in the building. Report potential security problems to residence hall staff or the police.

Staffing
A Residence Coordinator, who is a graduate student in the College Student Personnel Services & Administration masters program, lives in an apartment within the building and manages the Hall.

A Resident Assistant, who is an upperclass undergraduate student, lives on each floor. He or she will help the Residence Coordinator with administrative concerns, resolving conflicts, responding to crisis, enforcing University policies and helping residents with personal problems.

The front desk is staffed by Hall Assistants, who are undergraduate students, during the day and visitation hours. They monitor the lobby, act as a resource person, and serve as a receptionist.

Custodians clean common areas daily between 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.

The maintenance staff repairs routine problems from 8:00am to 4:45pm and is on call for emergencies.

How to Apply to State Hall?
You must first complete an application for housing and make a $100 housing deposit with the Department of Housing and Residence Life. The sooner this is done, the better the chances we have to accommodate your requests.
