Financial Planning Program for women
The UCA Foundation, Inc. and University Women's Organization will host a financial planning program for women on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 4 p.m. in Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center.

The two-hour seminar will feature three outstanding business professionals: Mr. Pat Moon, Meridian Management Company; Ms. Barbara Money, CPA; and Mr. Wayne LaRue, Stephens, Inc.

There is no charge for this seminar, however reservations are required due to the presentation materials that will be distributed to each participant. Please contact Pam at the UCA Foundation Office, at (501) 450-3378 for reservations and information.

UCA German Club to start
There will be a general interest meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at X-period in
Irby 204 about forming a German club on campus. If anyone needs more information, contact Freddie Bowles, 450-5097.

Copyright workshop
AETN is offering a copyright workshop, which will address the distance learning components in areas such as multimedia guidelines, copyright issues on the horizon, distance education obstacles in the copyright law and more. Along with the facilitator's presentation, this workshop plans to provide viewer materials, video illustrations and plenty of accessible resources. Dr. Fritz Dolak, Copyright and Electronic Resources Librarian and agent at University Libraries at Ball State University will be the presenter.

Fritz has given copyright presentations and workshops throughout the United States. This past October Fritz conducted a copyright workshop at the Instructional Telecommunications Council's Annual Conference, Telelearning 2001, held at Costa Mesa, California, entitled, "Copyright and Intellectual Property for Distance Education." Fritz's "Distance Education Do's & Don't's" are used throughout many of Indiana's state and private institutions as well as other colleges and universities throughout the United States.

The two-part workshop will be given on March 29, 2002 (Spring Break) from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. If you would like to attend this free workshop that will be held via compressed video, please contact Tonya McKinney at 450-3305 or e-mail at tmckinne@mail.uca.edu.

Faculty proposals for grants to support scholarly activities funded by the University Research Council are due to department chairs by Thursday, March 7. Guidelines and application forms are available at

UCA Business Seminars
Employee Teams: Working Together for your Business Success
This eight-hour seminar will focus on practical knowledge and use of successful business team building and applications. Participants will work together in developing an understanding of how teams in various-sized businesses can add to their commercial success. The roles of managers, team leaders and members will be discussed.

Feb. 26, 28, March 5,7 from 3-5 p.m. in Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center, Room 3.

Customer Service: Builds Profits!
This eight-hour seminar will explore the answer to the question, "So, if everyone understands what customer service is, why are there so many customer service complaints?" The participants will look at how business owners, managers, and employees can work together and understand customer service from their customers’ perspective and then provide a level of service based on the expectations of their customers. Simply, quality customer service built on relationship management secures success!

March 19, 21, 26, and 28 from 3-5 p.m. in Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center, Room 3.
